Had a blast today. Rolled from Denver to Moab and went Whitewater rafting near the Red Cliffs Lodge. It was a good time, and a much needed relaxing time enjoying a place rather than blazing through it. We found out that there are 300+ cops, helicopters and airplanes patrolling the area we are going through tomorrow, due to a biker rally. Apparently it's huge, and there was a murder and a lot of fights and shenanigans last year surrounding it. Anyone who didn't get a ticket yet on this rally is probably going to get one tomorrow.
Today I am cruising in the M5 videoing and blogging at about 120 mph through Nebraska, lol. Beef and Savannah are hilarious. Check out Beef's fake Mullet wig...
Today we were at this rad track called Motorsports Park Hastings they're building these rad party house condos right on the track these guys just got together and decided to build the place... it was so fun! After dinner they took us on Drunk Bus rides on the track they took this school bus and gutted it out and bolted like couches and stuff in the back put everyone on board and then drove crazy. Country entertainment you couldn't buy in the city!!!
We had a blast. The people here are so nice and they treated us to a phenominal dinner of Omaha Steaks, corn on the cobb, this great potato and onion dish and home made coleslaw salad.
The rally is going well. It's been a lot of work but we're starting to see everyone making friends and start to loosen up and really have a good time. This is Day 7 for Jason and I... Getting a little bit tired. Day 7 of getting 5 hours of sleep, driving all day... Dodging cops, coordinating hotels, printed materials, badges, restaurants, videoing, running the blog www.verveakarally.com and this blog you're reading.
These files are massive so I only had a chance to load this one from my hotel room but it truly is enjoyable... notice our off-road excursion, lol Untitled from Matt Clower on Vimeo.
Hey Just so y'all know... I am focused on publishing the official AKA Rally blog at www.verveakarally.com and so I'll only be posting some of my personal entertaining stuff from inside the Pace car and along the way.
On the road again. Got the time lapse rolling and it looks amazing. Will post some video tonight. Kind of crazy though, I was online co-piloting, editing video, blogging, running our time lapse camera, shooting b-roll footage, navigating, and Instant messaging a friend who is in Kenya all from in the car... at 80 miles per hour!!! All thanks to Slingshot Mobile Broadband www.slingshot.com.
God Speaking, "So what I want you do to is spend a lot of money and build a giant aluminum siding cross along the freeway" It must have been God speaking, because he asked someone to do it just another 45 miles away.
Our transit goal is to make it to the other side of St Louis today. A little bit of rain, but the clouds looked worse than they delivered. The blogging process is going well, and the Slingshot is working great.
Slingshot is providing wireless broadband access to every participant. It will allow everyone to check the location of the other participants in real-time.
